David Rider
David Rider began his dancing career at the age of 3 and at the age of 15 became the owner and director of David Rider’s World of Tap in Hyde Park, NewYork. He recently concluded a year with the international tour of Randy Skinner’s 42nd Street, and has toured the southern and northwestern United States dancing a tribute to the musical men of Hollywood in Tony Waag’s Tap City on Tour. Other credits include: Dancing on Common Ground (national tour), Lincoln Center's Reel to Real series tribute to Donald O’Connor, and Tap Extravaganza 2001 and 2003, where he performed a solo tribute to Stanley Donen.
Rider was given the American Tap Dance Foundation’s annual “Tap Teacher” award in 2006 for outstanding commitment to and achievement in the field of dance education. He has taught regularly at various dance schools, has traveled to teach master classes, and has been on the faculty of Tap City: The New York City Tap Festival since 2003. |
