Lee Jay Berman
Lee Jay Berman became a full-time mediator in 1994 and has successfully mediated more than1,000 litigated matters. He is on the panels of the American Arbitration Association, the CPR Institute’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, and the Arbitration Mediation and Conciliation Center. Berman is also a Fellow with the International Academy of Mediators and a Diplomat with the California Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
Berman has trained thousands of mediators from the United States and abroad. National chair of the training committee of the American Bar Association’s Section on Dispute Resolution, he is also director of the Mediating the Litigated Case program for the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law, which was ranked number one nationally in 2005.
Berman has also conducted mediation trainings for the first-ever mediators in post-war Croatia and for the Delhi High Court in India, as well as domestically for the American Arbitration Association, the California Academy of Mediation Professionals, and multiple Bar Associations, courts, law firms, and insurance companies. He was the inaugural director of the Court Administered Dispute Resolution (CADRe) Program for the Santa Barbara County Superior Court, currently sits on the advisory board of the Harvard Negotiation Insight Initiative, Harvard University School of Law, and is an international dispute resolution expert with the United Nations Development Programme.
