In the great tradition of yoga, midlife is an ideal time to restore health, vitality, and soften the aging process. Lilias Folan says, “Yoga gets better with age and age gets better with yoga.” This weekend with Lilias inspires us to develop our own multi-level, heart-centered practice to feel better, have more energy, and experience wisdom and serenity.
We learn the “three Rs” (resist, relax, restretch) of Lilias’s yin approach to stretching and asana preparation. We practice new warm-ups to assist the strength, ease, and pleasure in key asanas. While moving at an enjoyable pace, we contact the witness self, quiet the restless mind, and learn how to drop into contentment and stillness.
Take time this weekend to reconnect with your true nature and return to your everyday life refreshed and energized. All sizes, shapes, and ages welcome. No yoga experience necessary.
Lilias Folan, known as the “First Lady of Yoga” since her groundbreaking 1972 PBS series, Lilias, Yoga and You, is steeped in many different yoga traditions. She relies strongly on her own personal experience and intuition to influence her teaching. Her latest and third book is Yoga Gets Better with Age. liliasyoga.com
