Do you watch cooking shows longingly? Would you like to chop, dice, and sauté like the pros?
Join master chef Thomas Griffiths from the renowned Culinary Institute of America for a fun-filled weekend of cooking and tasting. We begin with basic knife skills, including slicing, dicing, and how to purchase, sharpen, and handle a knife. Through demonstrations and on-your-feet cooking with fellow food enthusiasts, we learn how to grill, sauté, pan-fry, roast, poach, and simmer using fruits, vegetables, grains, seafood, and sauces.
With a recipe packet and effective new cooking techniques, we return home with skills that bring us confidence in the kitchen and great tasting food for years to come.
Thomas Griffiths is a certified master chef, one of 70 in the world, and associate dean of global and advanced cuisines at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York. He has traveled throughout the United States, Japan, France, England, and Germany representing the CIA in culinary presentations and events and has held chef positions with several renowned establishments, including the United Nations, Le Delices Côte Basque, Regine’s, and Le Cirque. Thomas has also been featured on NBC’s Today Show, Good Morning America, and Sarah Moulton.
